Mt. Pinatubo

Mount Pinatubo literally blew it's top in a spectacular way in 1991,
leaving a cauldron-like sulphur lake
A giant ash cloud rose 35km into the sky,
and tentacles of lahar almost reached Clark Air Base
After the evacuation, the American Forces never returned.
